A Handful Sea, is the story of a girl named Deniz, of Mert who is in love with Deniz, of Deniz and Dilek who are in love with Mert, and maybe, most important of all, it is the story of Rana who is in love with his son, Mert.
A handsome and successful young man, Mert, has just come back from United States after graduating from college, and has been appointed as an Executive Director for a big company. Everybody loves him. Especially his close friends: Aylin and Bora. And Mert’s beautiful girlfriend, Dilek... Dilek and Mert is the ideal couple admired by everyone.
And then, one day, Deniz happens to come into Mert’s life. Maybe, she is a lunatic. Most of the time, wild and sarcastic... However, somehow “consistent and neat”. Mert falls in love with Deniz, completely forgetting about Dilek.
Deniz and Mert start a passionate relationship despite the objections of everyone around them. Mert is abandoned first by Dilek, then by all his friends.
Mert who is always known as a successful guy, starts to crack. This is an unacceptable thing for his mother and father, Rana and Cengiz.
The tense relationship between Rana and Deniz, turns into a nightmare on the second half of the story.
Rana has to protect his son.
Mert has to go back to his route and to what’s believed to be more appropriate for him.
Deniz has to be over.
But is that so easy?
Is a handful sea, really a sea?
